I am currently rewatching the Florida game. Mauk looks horrid. Why? That is the million dollar question.

His long throws are overthrown, he scrambles 1 second after the snap. I think they call it "happy feet". I know his line is bad, but some of the times he scrambles, he actually runs INTO trouble as opposed to escaping it. There are times when he's had time but just takes off...and not north or south...but side to side. 20 passing yards?? I had to reread that....20. I thought for sure a digit was left off but nope, 20. I mean, in the 2nd Quarter, we had the ball at Florida's 5 yard line...after an INT...and all we get is 3 points?? Can't punch it in from 5 yards, 16.5 feet??

So what's the fix? I'm not a professional and I did not stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, so I have no idea.

Is it the wide receivers? Is the O-Line that bad? Is it Mauk believing those "gun slinger" press clippings and he thinks this is the best way to play? It's bad when Mauk has more rushing yards (38) than passing yards (20). Let that sink in....his total was 58 yards of offense and 1 INT. I'm dyed in the wool Mizzou...I bleed black and gold...I fly a Mizzou flag on my flagpole under the Stars and Stripes....but I'm flustered and I know my wife is getting fed up with me threatening the 55' television with my drinking glass (iced tea, no alcohol).

Just had to vent and save the TV another week.

I'm not even sure you can even classify him as having "happy feet".

It's more of, "oh shite I have the ball, what do I do now?".

Which is what is baffling to me. Something changed after the IU game. It seems like a mental problem or something.

I think he's lost trust in the line, the receivers, and himself. It's a snowball effect, and Henson doesn't seem to know how to call the right plays to ease his anxiety. Calling runs to the edge, etc., is not helping the offense.

There is nothing any of us can do except hope it's a phase.
