Flag football? Touch?
In all seriousness, our inability to wrap up, shed blocks, and be aggressive towards other human beings has me questioning our practices. Does practicing against our O do our D a disservice? I don't see that mean streak in any of our players...regardless of age.

Agreed. I can probably count on one hand the number of good form-tackles (facemask into sternum and both arms around the ball carrier) I have seen this season.
Of course, the current pansy rules mean that a good form tackle is all-too-likely to draw a "targeting" flag.

My guess is the team was best up from the Arky, Miss St., and Ole Miss games. And still without a Bye week.
Maybe they didn't hit much in practice this week bc of that to save energy. It didn't work.

The thing I hate is how our DBS play when there is a quick pass out to the WRs. They don't attack the receiver at all, but instead they just wait a couple of yards away for the receiver to come to them......then miss the tackle of course.
That an no swarming to the ball at all.

Top Rated Def.
As a fan you can use this bye week to start making a wish list of DC's and floating them out to the interwebs/collective aggie consciousness.

Anyone know the story behind Pitt and their statistically good defensive stats?

When it hit me was when Yeldon carried a couple of our guys for 2-3 yards as half our team stood around and watched.
The very next possession, Tra gets a carry and I counted 10 Alabama players in on the tackle. That's coaching!

The "quit" in this team hit me on a pick-6 in the previous game, when one of our offensive linemen just stood still and watched the defender/ballcarrier run past him.
I don't care how big, fat and slow you are, you should still TRY to make that tackle. Even if you know that you simply cannot actually catch him and hurl him to the ground, you may force him to swerve enough to let someone with some speed catch him.
Standing and watching him run past is lazy. It shows "quit."
