He broke NCAA rules. I don't see how you can't blame him. I get the supporting your family stuff. I don't think amateur athletes should be able to profit though. Give them a larger stipend. Give it to all sports though or it'll never pass.

I have absolutely no respect for NCAA rules. I tend to cheer for people that defy them.
