Two weeks ago I explained to you why LSU's front seven couldn't handle MSU's offensive attack. On the other side of that coin, we discussed how MSU's front seven would dominate the young LSU offensive front. This brings us to where we are, at a perfect 1-0 record all time in breakdowns.
---------------------------------------
This week, the dawgs line up against the Texas A&M fighting manleaders. Better known as Jackie Sherrill's second favorite team.
My question this week doesn't address Kenny Hill, or the talented WR's, but A&M's backfield. The Mississippi State defense will be sending more safety, corner, and LB blitzes than A&M has seen this year. This was very effective against LSU a few weeks ago, and I'm sure Sumlin will be game planning for it.
A&M's running backs will have the chore of picking up the blitz. If they are successful, I believe it will be a high scoring game both ways. If they don't make their reads and the blitz plagues Hill, MSU could create enough distance to hold the game in hand.
The spread is going to hurt the fighting aggies in this game. Hill thrives when he is able to spread it out with 4 or 5 targets. The state defense will not allow that, and he will find himself having to force throws to 3 targets in heavy traffic.
Get ready Aggies, Evan is coming in deep.
