There will always be those who defend the indefensible. There will always be those who are perfectly comfortable with situational ethics. Generally, this applies to all of us in one way or another at some point. We see what we want to see. The real danger is when people collectively become so blinded, that it becomes the norm for their "culture". There is no real evidence that this is the case with the Mississippi State football program. That's why it's wisest to just condemn it, and move on. No need to celebrate it. Next thing you know, you'll have a program with thousands of Updyke-types who lose all semblance of what is important or valuable in life.

You don't have to go overboard and act like it's the end of the world, but you also don't act like it's a non-issue.

That is the case for many situations in life. People just need to learn moderation and "level-headedness" for lack of a better term.

Unfortunately, in today's society, you have to be overly apologetic (As shown by the OP) or you are grouped with the people that think it is ok, and that's not acceptable either.
