I'm not buying the hype because someone -- probably OM or Bama -- will bottle them up and force Dak to beat them with his arm. And he won't. MSU can't rely on their defense to shut down any of their remaining SEC-W opponents, not even Arkansas.

You were the guy who threw his shite on the field at the OM Vandy game right? It's ok man have a

I'm like, if I valued a Vandy fan's opinion about this I would have called my mutual fund advisor, our CEO or the cardiologist at work.

I was resting comfortably in my living room in North Carolina, sorry to say.

Just offering my opinion on why I'm not buying the hype yet. I didn't buy it a couple years ago, either, when Bama put y'all decisively into your place. Don't get me wrong -- y'all played very well against LSU, even if you tried to Miles your way to a loss toward the end. You deserved that win by simply beating LSU down. But Mullens, whom I'll always respect, simply isn't a big-time coach. He's a very good middle-of-the-road coach, capable of fielding teams that will always be solid and give opponents a fight. But Mississippi State's day in the sun isn't nearly enough evidence that they're going to replicate such a thing on a regular basis. They were just due a game where the pieces clicked and the otherwise reliable but unspectacular team managed to punish a ostensibly-better opponent for not adjusting. I've always known that people can't overlook a Mullens-coached team; that's not the same as saying I'm going to buy into the hype about a Mullens-coached team after one upset. Bookmark this thread, win your next two, bump, and I'll be perfectly willing to accept that I should buy the hype.

Yes, because the university I attended has any bearing on my grasp of football. Some of us attend college for other reasons. You do get that, right? It does have a bearing on my grasp of logical fallacies, though.

(Incidentally, I checked the all-time wins records:

Vanderbilt: 583-585-50
MSU: 526-555-39

Catch up and y'all can talk trash )
