Good post, Mizz.

Glaring problems I've noticed:

1) Secondary has been tentative for years and I think it's coaching related. We need some guys that challenge and hit hard. Oftentimes, it appears the CB's and S play contain... I get that this otens protects against TDs, but many times it leads to huge runs of 15+ yards and the chains move.

I thought Aarion would develop into more of VH3 type player, but seems only effective at INTs. He's very good at that, but I want to see improved tackling.

2) LBs still have trouble getting off blocks. We've seen enough with the SEC championship game to know that tough running attacks will be difficult to stop. Maybe that is more personnel than scheme... remains to be seen.

3) Murphy is better used in space. Think Henson needs to incorporate more screens to him instead of traditional runs. Murphy is a legit talent that can be a game-breaker.

4) TEMPO! Our Offense needs quicker tempo. We had too much fits and starts getting our offense going. This is one element I miss with Franklin. The offensive rhythm was better. Perhaps Mauk and co are changing plays at the line to counter what they are seeing with the defense. More quick hit throws to keep D off-balance.

The one elite thing I've noticed with this squad has been punting. Brinser deserves a medal for his efforts.

This and get better blocking from the O-Line and we're good to go.
