Someone please fill me in on how the hell Ole Miss is ranked this high?

The Associated Press Top 25 is derived from a poll of sports journalists from throughout the United States. They are asked to rank Division 1 football teams from 1 to 25 based on how good they think those teams are. Teams ranked number 1 are thought of as the "best" team in the country, teams ranked number 2 are thought to be the "second best," and so on.

Once these ballots are cast, the votes are tallied and an aggregate ranking is created. This is the weekly Associated Press Poll, which you are referencing in our original post. Ole Miss, on the aggregate, was voted as the 10th best team in the country. There were plenty of people who voted them higher or lower than 10, but on the aggregate that is where they landed this week.

I hope that explains it! I'm happy to answer any additional questions you may have!
