as I said, lsu was shutting down everything they did. plus, lsu has looked respectable on defense since then. I know that doesn't fit the lsu is going to suck narrative.

You should go back and watch the game, especially the second half.
(3) possessions with (3) 3-and-outs for Wisconsin.
Possession 1 featured a 2-yard loss by Gordon..they are thus forced to pass on second down and third
Possession 2 featured a stop on Gordon for no gain. Again, forced to pass on 2nd and 3rd
Possession 3, false start. Yet another passing situation the next few downs.
During that span LSU scores 14 points with their possessions. Now Wisconsin is really falling apart' with the score 24-21. This is when panic mode sets in, and I agree, Gordon is abandoned.
Possession 4 results in an INT, LSU goes up 28-24, Wisconsin never recovers.
