...and Bama's campus is most certainly nicer than Auburn's. Bama arguably has the nicest campus in the SEC.

To the extent you're right, it's a pretty new development. When I started in the early 2000s, Alabama was a mediocre campus in a dumpy town. It's certainly improved, as Bama has pumped money into that effort, but I'm not especially concerned with having an inferior campus to Alabama's over the long term.
