I guarantee you if Leonard Fournette said I'll sign on the condition of wearing #18 my freshman year then he'd get that number. It's a complete hypothetical because Leonard isn't that kind of kid, but had it been "18 or I'm going to bama" then he would be wearing 18. Les mentioned Fournette at the 2013 recruiting banquet.

I know it's a special number at lsu, but you're kidding yourself if you think in this scenario he wouldn't have gotten the number. LF is the only kid I can think of in the last decade that Miles would do this for. I'm not saying he'd do it for any ol 5 star, but they had all their eggs in the LF basket, didn't take a back in the previous class to better their odds at Fournette

Les would have to over rule all the 18s that wore the jersey because they are the commitee who choose who gets the jersey; that would be a monumental mess. Having said that, I don't think in the history of LSU that the coaches and fans have ever wanted a recruit as badly as we wanted Fournette. So.....

Nope, LSU is much bigger than LF, and LF knows this.

18 is sacred. One earns 18, and teamvote was accurate in this instance...
