What they don't realize, is that half of them will lose their jobs if they win and get $15/hr. The cashiers will be fired and replaced with automated cashiers where the customer selects the order and puts the money in, similar to Wal Mart self checkouts.
That way, since the employer has to pay double hourly wage, his labor costs are the same due to only needing half of the employees for cooking/cleaning.
