LSU just got so annoyed that they said "frick it, we'll rearrange our entire schedule and completely piss of our entire fan base just to shut you up."

Lulz.

Our 2014 schedule is hardly a radical makeover.

Here are the differences:

Swapped dates for Auburn and State games but both are still in mid September to mid October timeframe as they have been for years.

Moved Ole Miss game to weekend before Halloween (the traditional date). Most LSU fans would see this as a positive change.

Swapped dates for Arkansas and A&M games. Few LSU fans outside of North LA care about Arkansas game.

Open dates before Bama (per usual) and A&M games. No complaints there.

That's it.

I'm not thrilled about playing on Thursday night but it's not like anyone was thrilled about driving all the way up to Little Rock or Fayetteville (which usually required trashing your normal Thanksgiving routine) so what's the difference?

College Station is easier to get to for most LSU fans and alumni. Bayou City is loaded with LSU alums and Louisiana expats. The Gulf War is going to be a good rivalry. No chants of "Go to Hell!" but way more involved than a game against a school located less than an hour from the Missouri border.
