I didn't do preview of Illinois bc of time, but they obviously have a case too.
Lot of close games but 25 point loss to Michigan looms large IMO.

So you'd put them above all SEC teams and Nebraska. Obviously championships are important to you too.

I'd eliminate Nebraska because of the nature and time of their loss. 62-36 in their last game against one of the other participants. And it wasn't that close. CU could have scored 80. Seriously.
Tenn would be the only other I'd consider and I'd unenthusiastically give Illinois the nod based on good top-25 wins, a one-loss season and their only loss being in September.
LSU and UF have no real case imho. LSU sure as heck would have after the bowls.
