I read someone on /r/CFB who said the complete opposite. They said they've never seen an opposing staff take the elevator and that they always take the stairs
There may be stairs after the elevator but they are dead wrong on staffs not using the elevator. I know. I actually watch them get on the elevator. I have to hold the door for them out of and into the press box. AU has security staff who's specific job is to escort both staffs from the press box to the locker room and back. This includes an elevator trip to the main floor of the West side of the stadium. From that point I don't know about the visiting locker room but I do know the AU staff has to Usain Bolt it from half way around the West stands to their locker room behind the South End zone. That does include some stairs. It's logical to think the visiting coaches have to make the same run on the opposite end after exiting the elevator.

That explains what I saw when the Ark assistants came out after the lightning delay.

Usually the visiting team coaches run up the stadium stairs on the north end of the home side to approach the north end of the press box. When they came out after the lightning delay, they went to the stadium steps on the south end of the home side. I assume that was because the north elevator was still out of order?

I know that Arkansas fans probably think its intentional, but if the scoreboard and the elevator were on the same circuit breaker, it would have lost power when they reset the scoreboard.
