If by routinely you mean he has lost 9 times total in 6 years, you are a confused man. His losses vs. Florida in 08, at LSU, at USC, and vs. Auburn in 10, vs. LSU in 11, and against one of the best quarterback to play college football vs. A&M in 12.

So that leaves 3 losses to teams with noticeably less talent in 6 years. Any program would be thrilled with that. There is potentially one coach better in game and that is Spurrier. Malzahn hasn't coached long enough for me to crown him as a better in-game coach. Anybody can have one great/fortunate season.

And to be even more specific, three of those six were against Heisman winners. Another was against a drunk who just happened to play the game of his life.
