Look what they lost
Nebraska - flagship school and state of Nebraska
Missouri - flagship school and state of Missouri
Colorado - flagship school and state of Colorado
Texas A&M - flagship school and part state of Texas
They got a small religious school in TX and the low population state of WV. As soon as Big Red bolted they should have already lined up Louisville, but they waited even on that and lost them to the ACC. Not like WVU or TCU were going anywhere so they could have added them later as they would always be there. Love or hate the Cards they have multiple sports you can put on a conference network.
Not only did they lose big schools and populations but they lost schools that can fill multiple sports and fill the "middle" of a network. Losing Nebraska may have hurt the most as their fans are pretty "all in" for all the sports Nebraska participates in. They also lost the CWS park to the B1G.
