I have a 4runner now and it's awesome, but I do think the new ones are ugly. Would not buy for look. Reliability? That's another thing that all Toyota's share in common.
The Highlander looks great, better than the last version.
I do agree with you on the lights that stick out, don't like that at all.

I'd buy a KIA with its 100k warranty before the RAV4 nowadays. Kia is getting more respectable yet still cheaper
