What is it with toyota and these headlight/taillight housings that bulge well beyond the body?
This plagues the highlander and the 4-runner. Add this and the "gaping maw/angry face" school of "design" puts me off of toyota completely.
Don't buy ugly arse vehicles. Too many good styles from Honda, Ford, VW, Kia, etc to buy these monstrosities. Besides: Toyota is the new Buick.

I have a 4runner now and it's awesome, but I do think the new ones are ugly. Would not buy for look. Reliability? That's another thing that all Toyota's share in common.
The Highlander looks great, better than the last version.
I do agree with you on the lights that stick out, don't like that at all.
