QB: Mason - Can he get the job done? Sure. Will he get the job done? I honestly think watching Mason play this year is going to make UGA fans who agged on Murray for years realize just how good he was. If Mason goes down, I tend to think you will see a QB rotation of both Bauta and Ramsey just because they both bring different things to the table.

Comparison with USCe: DRAW. I think Thompson has a lot of questions to answer as well. I would have said ADV USCe had Mason not gotten those two starts late last year. Both these guys have the problem that the previous QBs on their teams literally WILLED their teams to both victories and comebacks. We will see how much the offenses of the respective teams will believe in the new starters.

I disagree with this. Thompson has a lot more experience than Mason and, honestly, Mason has long way to go from his performances last year if UGA is going to be a contender. He will benefit from a good WR corps and a great running game but there was not really a single game last year where he looked comfortable in the pocket. Part of that might be the OL, which by all accounts is improved this year, but I think part of it was Mason just not being mentally ready and lacking self-confidence; he held the ball way too long last season.

As far as the rest goes:
RB-UGA has and edge. Davis and Gurley are both top notch RBs but I think UGA has better depth.

WR-I'd give the edge to UGA if for no other reason than the experience we have. A LOT of guys have starts under their belts due to injuries and, if we come into the USC game healthy, I think UGA has the overall better unit. If we're missing JSW (which we will be) and Mitchell, then I think it's a slight edge to USC.

OL- USC. No doubt. Probably one of the best units in the nation this year.

DL- Draw.

LB- UGA. Comparing 3-4 LB's to 4-2-5 LB's is apples to oranges, but either way you slice it, Wilson and Herrera are arguably the best inside duo in the SEC and Floyd/Jenkins/Carter are a fearsome group on the outside.

DB: Both are young groups but I'm giving the edge to USC just because we were so bad last year I'm hesitant to say anyone in FBS is worse than we are. Until I see improvement, I'm working under the assumption that we're still going to suck.

Kicking: I think UGA has the edge; Morgan is a boss.

Why do you say we'll be without JSW? He's looking at a 1 game suspension for the pot arrest last fall. You think even with an off week after Clemson, he still misses the SC game?
