You are assuming that every week of a horrible year like 2012 is like a knife plunging into your heart. To be honest you become numb to it and joke about it. Not like being the hell that is Georgia where your heart is ripped out year after year.

The NC was absolutely awesome and, for me at least, the absolutely incredible years far outweigh the horrible years, or the "almost did it!" years.

This question came up on a GA board a while back, and here is my take on it. Would it be great to be in and win a national title? Absolutely. But at the end of the night, everyone is back in the same boat for the following year. I love the anticipation of the college season. I love the stress of week to week needing to win. Last year was bad enough watching so many great players go down one after the other. I can't even imagine going through a season where it didn't even matter if the starters were available or not.

To the question about the 2011 Auburn team, it was UGA posters laughing about them, and if you had watched the 2011 UGA-AU game, you would understand why. If I recall, UGA didn't have more than 1-2 pass plays the entire second half. They were just running it straight up the middle, and they still kept scoring on AU. Yep, just watched it again. 2 passes thrown in second half. 305 total rushing yards with Isaiah Crowell ( who fumbled twice), Carleton Thomas, and Brandon Harton.

And I guess this gets me to the heart of my fandom, the wins I remember are against teams I hate UGA losing to. I derive as much or more satisfaction from those wins as I would a NC game. In 2012, I wanted UGA to beat Bama. I didn't really think of it in terms of NC at the time. So yeah, a couple of seasons watching the Dawgs not even being able to compete against rivals would just be God-awful for me.
