For people like this there is always some excuses for not crediting the wins and giving all blame for the losses.

Firing Muschamp at the end of 2013 would have been a disaster. UF needed a solid recruiting class. And honestly, they really need one more decent class (2015). UF needs stability right now, or they risk becoming the next Tennessee, a program torn apart by instability because of bad decisions by the AD. Foley is fighting for stability right now, and I am thankful for his ability to look ahead.

And I also want to say I don't always blindly support Florida coaches. I felt Ron Zook was terrible for the program, and was happy when he was let go. I honestly don't feel the same about Muschamp, and think if he can just settle down his offensive staff, that UF will be in good hands for a long time.

Man...what a clusterpuck this thread has evolved to

Everyone knows I am a card carrying member of the Muschamp Fan Club # 001. So...with that in mind, I will expound briefly on several subjects:

Saban would have had a horrible year in 2013 if he had the been the HC at UF with all the injuries we incurred. Theres just no way to look at it any other way.

Muschamp knows how to coach and he is one of the best defensive minds in the COUNTRY....and Foley knows that. Foley also knows 2013 was a disaster not unlike anything we've seen at UF EVER...as far as injuries. Straw, you weren't born before 1979....I was 32 yrs old then and it was a difficult year...new HC in Charlie Pell who would turn it around from 0-10-1 to something like 8-3 the next year in 1980.

Seven wins in 2014? I would hold the door open for Boom to leave. We will not be losing much folks. I expect 11-1 or even 12-0. And that is my honest opinion. Our offense will be much improved. This will silence the hotseat crap from the media. Boom just has to make sure he recruits OL as a priority...my real one complaint early on.

Straw...your memory should be better with youth, but obviously your memory is slightly tilted towards dismissal of Muschamps abilities. Boom inherited a team in 2011 that was soft and not motivated...especially a problem with discipline. Meyer had already washed his hands clean and wanted out of the hot frying pan that SEC and UF can be.

Muschamp had to clear out some of the deadwood who didn't want to practice or attend classes. I loved the quote Boom gave in his early one on one interview that he "isn't a babysitter". The previous staff coddled too much. Boom is a no nonsense coach who does have sense of humor on the practice field...but he makes the players aware that he captains the ship.

Boom HAD to get a tougher team soon and its amazing what he did in one year from 2011 to 2012 in changing the mindset of his team and especially the defense....most recruited by Meyer and not yet fully developed. We had a bench warming RB who developed as a hard SEC runner in his r/s senior season. Remember that in 2011 we had no run game....two scatbacks barely 170 lbs. and we were unable to control leads in the second half. 2012 was like night and day from 2011...you can credit Boom for that.
2014 is now upon us and we will get our share come LOI signing day....especially with a banner year Im expecting....some will flip to us. We can start to put the hammer down soon....Boom isn't going to come out in a year or two and tell us he needs more time with family. I am looking forward to streak of great seasons.
