Agree with this. The difference between SEC coaches and the NFL is getting smaller and smaller. The life of a college coach is also a much easier one than the NFL as well. The NFL is a parity based model that has things like the Salary Cap and reverse order Draft to keep the difference from best to worst small. College is a "Rich get richer" model where rich schools can develop massive advantages over other schools that actually make it easier as you are more successful. Winning means more money and better recruiting. Build up a great program, hire great assistants, and really a HC can act more like a CEO.

College HC's also have much more power in general than NFL HC's, unless they are HC/GM's. A college HC is accountable to the AD of course but the power in that relationship is often with the HC and they usually have complete control over personnel and how the football operation is run.
