Petrino made un-remarkable talent look remarkable with his system.

So coaching was a direct contributor to success

Please go look at the number of NFL draft picks Arkansas has had for the past 2 years. Acknowledge that the turmoil, with no coach in place, likely impacted recruiting for 2 years.

Would you like to check out Auburn for the past two years as well

Acknowledge those 2 very simple facts or shut the frick up.

You acknowledged my point in your first one and your second is a deflection of the topic that coaching can be an equalizer

I'm so tired of this asinine, tired theory of you geniuses.

You might look in the mirror as well with this comment.

What system does Bobby Petrino run? What's his offensive style? How many of his recruits are still on campus, or were on campus when Bert arrived?

What were Auburn's recruiting rankings across that time frame? Did their system change much over this time?

Auburn recruiting classes
2013 - 11th (247)
2012 - 13th (247)
2011 - 5th (247)
2010 - 4th (rivals)
2009 - 19th (rivals)
Avg - 10th ranked class in the country

Arkansas
2013 - 24th (247)
2012 - 24th (247)
2011 - 22nd (247)
2010 - 49th (rivals)
2009 - 16th (rivals)
Avg - 27th ranked class in the country

Of course, this doesn't show the absolutely abysmal player retention that Petrino left, either. But even on the surface it's clear that Arkansas started off with a much worse deck of cards than Auburn in 2013.

Bert was directly responsible for quite a few things that we failed at. He ran some stupid arse trick plays, for instance. But you are LITERALLY fricking retarded if you think he should have come in to our situation and had success. I think asking for 1 or 2 more wins might not have been unreasonable, but those wins wouldn't have changed any simpleton's opinion of Bert.

Herp derp. He only won 4 or 5 games. He sucks. You tell me different and I'll know you haven't been on the rant for a long time or you're lying.

But let's just call a spade a spade. Let's be reasonable. Can you try that? Tell me how much MORE success Bert should have had. Tell me which wins he should have that he didn't, and you tell me why. Why should we have beaten which teams. Tell me which teams we should have beaten that had less talent than we did.

I'm willing to admit Bert didnt' do a great job coaching last year. But that's not the fricking point. Managed expectations.

Avery Johnson is a sure fire HOF basketball coach, right? That's the narrative that people attribute to him, right? No? What changed? Ohhhh - you mean once he stopped coaching a stacked roster with an all-time great he stopped winning? It's almost like talent is the #1 component of fielding a successful team in, like, any sport ever.
