The way I figure it, AU thought the NCAA was too stupid to understand the mechanics of what actually happened, so they used "hack" as an OMG! word to emphasize that they didn't deliberately put the page up for public viewing. It was in no way a "hack," but I can sympathize with thinking the NCAA is too stupid to understand the proper explanation and why it isn't (really) Auburn's fault.

People (bama fans) are just mistaking Auburn's ignorance regarding technology for some sort of attempt to deceive or mislead.
