Off the top of my head, here are the first rounders from each state going back 5 years.

Alabama
Julio Jones
Mark Barron
Marcel Dareus
Dre Kirkpatrick
Nick Fairley
Dee Milliner
CJ Mosley
DJ Fluker (born in LA, played high school ball in AL)

Louisiana
Eric Reid
Greg Robinson
Odell Beckham
Barkevious Mingo

I would think that a state with such superior talent would be sending a few more guys off the board on the first day than little ol Alabama.

Over 5 years, what's the numbers look like if you go back 10 years?

Why just 1st round?

Making it to the NFL in general is quite a feat.

You still have not posted where you got the roster numbers from.
I only counted 20-25 players on the roster from Al. Many of those I've never heard of.

LSU has 60+ players on the roster from La.
Where do you get 42 from?
I'll wait.

Then why does Saban spend so much time flying around the country to fill his roster?
La. puts out players with a mental and physical toughness that Saban likes for his style of play.
Al. puts out good players but I would rate them far behind Fl., Ga., La., Tx. and even Ms.

I got both numbers from the 247 site.

Then there is no helping you. Just looking at last years draft (you might want to sit down)

Because he is after the best players, period. Maybe he is onto something. Maybe les should get out a little more.

Saban does. When he was at LSU he was on mission to keep all the talent in-state.

At Al. he spends more than any other coach in the country trying to avoid Al. players.

For Alabama.

Jason Allen
Carnell Williams
Andre Smith
Marcel Dareus
Nick Fairley
Demarcus Ware
Julio Jones
Mark Barron
DJ Fluker
Jamarcus Russell
Phillip Rivers
Ben Grubbs
Dee Milliner
CJ Mosley
Dre Kirkpatrick
Rolando McClain

Off the top of my head. I'm sure I'm forgetting a few. I'll let someone else provide the 10 year LA list.

Eta: I'm counting 12 from the state of Louisiana in that time frame to 16 from Alabama. Someone provide an explanation, that just can't be

Apparently there is no helping Saban either.
You could save the athletic dept. millions if you could convince him to stop flying all over the country to avoid all these studs in his backyard.

You really need to educate your coach hoss.
I'm only asking why he doesn't want these players.
You keep deflecting. Shocking.

He never loved you. Everything he did at LSU was just trying to get to us.

It's admirable for miles to have 20 guys from Louisiana on his bench that will rarely contribute. Apparently Saban would rather focus on the top 10 or so guys in the state that fit his criteria and battle with another in state, championship caliber team for those guys, and then fill in the rest elsewhere. Tell me, which method seems to be working out better for the respective head coaches?

I eagerly await a list of the first round talent that Louisiana has produced over the last decade

Nevermind I looked it up. It's fewer than the state of Alabama

We didn't love him either. It was strictly business. He woke the giant. I appreciate it.
