Ive always said that if an elite program that could keep getting 4 and 5 star recruits that were unselfish football players, and they ran the triple option they would win a shitload of games. Hell Auburn basically ran triple option out of shotgun last year.

There is a reason that the Auburn offense works. It's basically an option game, with spread principles.

There are tons of good articles you can read online about it.

You have to have a good mind as an offensive coach to install and coach it well though. You also need a good athlete at QB to be the most successful.

It's not an accident that coaches like Meyer and now Malzahn have had success with similar offenses. They are hard to defend.

The only reason they don't run it at the NFL level is because the fast QB's necessary can get destroyed by huge ultra fast and strong defensive players and injury becomes an issue, although look at San Francisco, they've been pretty good.

I hate to bring this up because of the obvious youtube clips but a team did use this formula (plus possible performance enhancers and a lax approach to domestic violence) and dominate the 90s.
