I think what CNB is getting is that all things considered there is no reason why SC shouldn't be considered any more or less a legit national title contender than some of the other schools you listed, but we're put in the "maybe" section because our name is South Carolina and not LSU or UGA. Of course by doing so you'd be completely ignoring the countless "Never done befores" we've knocked off our list since Spurrier got here.

I could talk about how you can't beat AU and you play them at AU.

Couldn't win @UT, couldn't beat UF at all, couldn't beat a #1 ranked team, could never win the East. etc. etc. etc.

I'll give you that my good man. U guys were listed as maybe because of name recognition and it really isn't fair, I'll fix it.

These accomplishments are nothing to hang your hat on if you're serious about South Carolina gaining the recognition of a Big 6 member. UT has been down for the longest, UF dominated South Carolina in the Swamp the one time both teams were good (2012), 2010 Alabama finished 4th in the West and wasn't close to being ranked #1 where it mattered most (at the end of the season), 2010 SEC East was the weakest since the split, etc. etc. South Carolina has more remarkable accomplishments than the ones you mentioned.
