"Both are shite"

I wouldn't go that far. Bham is a beautiful area with some very nice suburbs and interesting spots. Jackson has a few really nice areas and the reservoir is pretty cool. Overall though it reminds me of a larger nicer Montgomery. Bham is much more comparable to Memphis, Jacksonville, and Louisville in size and importance whereas Jackson is more comparable to Mobile or Shreveport.

"Fairhope over Oxford....nah (having water isn't fair)"

Oxford is fantastic and has a lot to offer for a relatively small city but so does Fairhope/Point Clear and you can't take the great bay location out of it which is why I think Fairhope edges them out.

Both Madisons are nice suburbs

Hattiesburg is nice and has a great location only an hour and a half from New Orleans and only 2 hours to the beach. Tuscaloosa isn't as nice overall but offers the same stuff Hattiesburg does while Auburn is as nice and has a great location only an hour and a half from Atlanta

The main one i can't see people arguing for is Bham.

frick that city. It sucks. My wife went to school at Samford so i spent a lot of weekends there. I hated that city it's a shithole minus the Mountain Brook area.

Oh and Moes over Chipotle all day everyday. Swankys is badass. But my favorite was one we had in Texas called Freebirds. By far the best burrito joint ive ever eaten at.
