I think the idea that Snyder won a NC as a DC sprouted on texags after the hire and has lingered throughout our fanbase ever since. He was the LB coach that year.

I think he was promoted to Co DC the next year when they went to the sugar bowl. Not sure though. I know he was Co DC for them at one point shortly after the NC.

when Dantonio left to be HC of Cincy in 2003, Snyder took over as DC. He only spent one year at the position at OSU before being hired by his alma mater Marshall as HC.
