All of this is IMO of course and I'm young and a poor college student so I probably haven't eaten at some of the better restuarants in Cola yet. Add your own opinions and food item ideas, etc. I'm hoping some of you more cultured folk can point some good places out.
Best Burger: Pawley's
Best Philly CheeseSteak: Pizza Man
Best Pizza: Mellow Mushroom? idk, I'm not a huge fan of pizza so I rarely order it if I'm out.
Best Steak: Probably Ruth's Chris
Best Sandwhiches/Deli: Andy's Deli/Grouchos
Best BBQ: Palmetto Pig or Little Pigs
Best Seafood: Mr. Friendly's
Best Mexican: Eric's San Jose

I like Dano's the best for pizza. Pawley's is easily the best for burgers.

Don't take this as a flame.... Im serious.
I've been to Cola 3 times, and always tailgated with some Carolina friends, but have never been into town there, because the stadium is not in town, and my trips there have always been day trips from Athens.
I've read multiple accounts of how awesome Columbia is and I just haven't seen it, because I've only done the tailgate scene.
The mayor and the AD should try to market and promote the cool parts of Cola with some kind of trolley or street car system directly connecting WBS, that allows visitors convenient access to both. So you can park in whatever parking spot you were unlucky enough to pay $25 for in the general area of the stadium, and you can trolley back and forth to Cola as a visitor who doesn't necessarily know how to get around, and feel safe and have fun.
It would be good for Columbia.

This is solid, I agree with about all of it. Blue Marlin had really good seafood years ago. Shealy's BBQ is really good, but it's outside of the Columbia limits. Also, Dano's was awesome. We used to get SC Largest Pizza from there and throw it in the back of the Ford for tailgates.

For Best Burger I'll nominate Burger Tavern 77.
Most underrated steak: Texas Roadhouse Sirloin--9 oz is about $11 I think with 2 sides, it's as good as any New York Strip I've had.
Best Pizza: Village Idiot or Pizza Joint
Best Mexican: San Jose's on Hwy 1 West Columbia behind Chic Fil A, great outdoor patio and excellent carnitas and margaritas.
For any Thai food lovers, I recommend Chinese Cuisine and Thai Food on N. Main St. Not the greatest dining atmosphere but great for take out--try the Chicken Pad Thai.

I love garibaldis, but the last couple times i have been there it wasn't great. Maybe just bad nights for them or maybe they are slipping.

Have to change my nomination for best pizza. I'll say Labrasca's has the best pizza (that I've had). If I had to go out to get pizza that's where I would choose.
