My mother had a friend she worked with who marched with Dr. King as a little girl. Why should she not be proud of the fact that she was a part of the generation of African Americans who helped change the US? There are many blacks still alive who remember being second class citizens, and they have every right to be proud of what they accomplished.

She was directly involved in the march.

That's something to be proud about. We're talking about things that are unearned in their entirety.

Unless you or any other person on this board pulled a Fry and was directly involved with their parents' intercourse.
