At comparable levels to blacks? Nationality/Ethnicity =/= Race. I don't think anyone focuses on race as much as blacks and I've given several reasons why I feel that way, I can give more.

Well in my 11 almost 12 months of post here, I've never seen a black person post a race thread on here or the OT lounge,

Also please don't tell me you're serious about the roots thing. I mean REALLY???

You must not frequent the OT lounge very often then. I've seen several.

This is a disproportionately white board, admittedly.

I think race is being talked about more now because of movements from feminist/minority groups like "Check Your Privilege". This is an acrid attempt to marginalize a group of people strictly due to race and gender and should be taken with at least a bit of seriousness.

Of course I'm serious about this.

Why on Earth should you be proud about something simply because you were born with it? I can be proud of America and its accomplishments, but I shouldn't be proud to be an American solely because that's where I happened to be born.

If it's unearned, it's not worthy of being proud of.

Unless you can give an objective reason why people should be proud of their ethnicity.

Now that is nothing but funny! My life or name has nothing to do with a miniseries from way back when!!! LOL!

Apparently no scientific(botany) background...much less a sense of humor!

Roots were around long before Kunte whateva!
