And the reason why you don't hear "white pride" is because white people are now going by their nationalities. You hear Irish pride, or Italian pride, or German pride. Since many blacks don't know what African country they are originally from, they just group it together as Black pride. Also MANY Latinos and Asians are proud of their roots as well.

At comparable levels to blacks? Nationality/Ethnicity =/= Race. I don't think anyone focuses on race as much as blacks and I've given several reasons why I feel that way, I can give more.

And what's wrong with being proud of your roots?

No one should be proud of anything that they themselves did not earn. You didn't choose to be white or Irish, you were born with it.

Well in my 11 almost 12 months of post here, I've never seen a black person post a race thread on here or the OT lounge,

Also please don't tell me you're serious about the roots thing. I mean REALLY???

My mother had a friend she worked with who marched with Dr. King as a little girl. Why should she not be proud of the fact that she was a part of the generation of African Americans who helped change the US? There are many blacks still alive who remember being second class citizens, and they have every right to be proud of what they accomplished.
