I'm worried after Iowa as well. I think Jennings starts and gets the vast majority if not all of the playing time against Wisconsin. Also, those fantasizing about Lee need to snap back to reality. He was good against inferior defenses, but he was trembling with fear against Bama in the game in November. He was flinging up punts off his back foot so bad he was nearly falling backwards. He nearly completed as many passes to the other team as he did us. I don't think that trend was going to change any time soon. He probably would have finished the game with 6 or 7 picks, and we would have surely lost. I get how you can look at Jefferson's performance against Bama and ask "this is the best we've got?" However, Lee was definitely not a better option against Bama.

JJ definitely had to be the main focus because he had always played some of his better games against Bama. But the dude completed five passes in the SEC Championship Game against UGA for 30 yards (longest pass was 9 yards). He accounted for 25 total yards of offense in the game (-5 rushing). That had to be really concerning for Miles. In fact, we were down 10-0 and about to get chased because the offense was going 3-and-out on every drive and UGA missed two wide open TDs in the end zone. But then Honey Badger happened.

Lee played some bad games against Bama. In fact, he had a couple of bad seasons where it looked like he would never be an option. But he changed that. He played really well in the limited, but crunch time part of the game in 2010 against Bama after JJ got hurt in a good outing and he sealed the game with a long completion for the 1st down. Every game is different. It just wasn't JJ's night and your backup QB is there for when the starter is not doing anything. He should've seen the field. Bama may have still won, but he should've seen the field. Then again, when your coaches run Spencer Ware on 3rd and 8 and run JC Copeland (who had 1 carry for 0 yards on the year) on 3rd and 4, the QB choice probably doesn't matter. Terrible game plan - period.
