if that's all that he did, the charges should/will be dropped, and the cops are idiots and should be reprimanded (they won't be)

a buddy of mine from ole miss told me a story awhile back about a bored cop in oxford shooting and killing a deer with his police issued firearm....while on duty. he was naturally fired. sucks for the guy because he apparently was in the process of applying to work for the fbi. oops

It happened in Gautier, not Oxford. The cops here are usually pretty fair from what I have seen, but you never know. I guess more facts will emerge with time.
