From the OM board:

Do you think ordway is ours to lose?

I think it's a little too early to tell. I look at the top players in TN and expect a domino effect. I think we have a very good shot at Drew and McMillon. I think Javon has worked Drew and the way he speaks it just seems like we are in the drivers seat and I think our main competition in McMillon, being bama, has him as a plan B.

If we were to get those two then I think our chances with Ordway and Phillips increase dramatically. We are In the top 2 for all those players and if you get those four then maybe we can convince Van Jefferson to come play with his boys because we are on the outside looking in with him

Saying that, Drew could commit to UT and it wouldn't surprise me. Bama could get more interested in McMillon and head to Bama and then you have Drew recruiting Phillps and Ordway to UT which would be tough to overcome. I have a feeling we are going to get a home run or strike out in that state, and that state determines our class as much so as MS. UT is tough to beat on instate kids if a good bit of the top players head there.

Like I said before, I feel if we get a one or two of these TN kids we could get a HR and get 4-5. So I knew we had them at home and will have plenty of those kids here to watch that arse whooping but wondered what their OOS was given that if they won all of them they probably go bowling. Um no, not happening. Those poor fricks have to go to Norman for their third game of the year. Back to back years of no bowls for Butch and I love our chances with Richmond, Ordway, and Phillips and hopefully they can convince McMillon and Jefferson to come down too.

Caught me off guard a little bit. I've never felt threatened by OM recruiting outside of what they bring in from Memphis, and even then they haven't beaten Butch on any in-state kid that he's wanted.

We lead for Ordaway, although he's still wanting to play the process out a little longer.

Richmond and Phillips have said multiple times that all they need to see is improvement from last years team and that's the reason they haven't committed yet. If we get to 6 wins this season, and I think we will (+ a bowl game), they won't land any of the 3 or any recruit in-state that Butch wants for that matter. See last years class. This staff has completely locked down the state and rebuilt all those inroads Dooley tryed to shite on.

Van Jeffersons just named us in his top 2. (Along with either UGA or tOSU, it wasn't specified) Dad's been on campus multiple times and stated how much he loves the staff and what's being built. As well as the proximity to Nashville. His mom finally made it on campus this weekend and from all reports came away very impressed. I think Van ends up at UT or decides he doesn't like how deep WR is and heads to UGA or OSU.

This team is full of in-state kids with deep ties to every single one our top rated guys in-state. Particularly last year's class. I'm not worried about OM being able to sway these guys based off high school friendships. If anything, I feel very confident with that situation.

I will say this though, until Butch proves it on the field they are in decent shape.
