Porter our VQ mods said people close to Abernathy think TN has a lot of momentum right now.

His older brother played under Butch at Cincy.

But it will be a tough pull.

More good vibes in the VQ War Room on Abernathy, Richmond and Tuttle.

You put those three in the 247 class calculator and we move up to 2nd .

On Abernathy

quote:

There are several important announcements scheduled over the next few months for Vol targets and the first one likely up is Atlanta cornerback Micah Abernathy. Abernathy has plans to announce before his first game and as we've said now for several weeks this is a Tennessee-Ohio State battle and we continue to hear that Abernathy is leaning towards the Vols at this point.

Ohio State is continuing to battle there, but we're told the family likes the idea of him playing under Jones who they've known for some time and are fond of. The family likes Ohio State as well, but right now it looks like Tennessee is the team to beat according to several close to the situation.

On Richmond

quote:

Drew Richmond is scheduled to announce a commitment on Sept. 9 and the race continues to be a tight one. But, the Vols are generating some consistent buzz here lately.

On Tuttle

quote:

North Carolina defensive tackle Shy Tuttle announced he will release a decision on Sept. 26 and we continue to believe, as we've said for some time now, Tennessee is in the driver's seat there. We will continue to monitor whether or not he takes official visits before that announcement date and that could be a factor, but right now Tuttle is Tennessee's to lose.
