It was a great Mizzou team Anderson had in 2009 and I supported it, and its a shame that his third year at Arkansas was so dismal compared to his third year at Mizzou. You yourself say that Anderson's starting point at Mizzou after Snyder was similar to his starting point at Arkansas, but yet the difference in what he was able to build by year three at the two schools is stunning. Perhaps it was due to the fact that the three best players on that 2009 team of Anderson's consisted of two Quin Snyder recruits (Leo Lyons and Matt Lawrence) and a third, Demarre Carroll, who he happened to be Mike Anderson's nephew and hence fell into his lap. Or perhaps the contrast speaks more to the difference in resources and basketball acumen at Missouri that you allude to as compared to what Anderson has to work with down in Arkansas, I dunno.

It had to do with Anderson's ability to work the roster his first two years at Mizzou, the ability he did not have while at Arkansas, any player who could graduate had to be kept for APR purposes.

The other factor is Snyder was actually a good coach, just landed a NBA HC job, while Pelphrey is one of many Donovan flunkies (SEE: Anthony Grant).
