He is being propped up by his party for mid-term elections. Once those are over (and especially if the Republicans take the Senate), his usefulness is very limited. His economic and foreign policy record will not assist the Democrats in retaining the White in 2016, so they will begin the process of distancing themselves from him.

They will not be trumpeting him as the best president ever. His approval rating is about par with Bush's Presidency at the same time. He is viewed as incompetent. It will not change.
