Didn't realize Avery was a first round pick. Shows you how much the league has changed when an undersized back that never ran for more than 900 yards in a season was going in the first round back then. I also thought he was a lot more productive in college. He's a guy I remember from back then and I was just a youngster.

I played baseball with Ro when we were kids. We hung out the Friday night before the Arkansas game last fall. It was pretty nice to be able to walk in the back doors of all the bars and not deal with the crowds!

IIRC, John Avery led the XFL in rushing yards.

Didn't Avery have good hands? I think he would've made it in the NFL in today's game, but they didn't throw to RBs as much back then.

It took Tuberville a couple of seasons to fully start him. He was running second to Artie Moore for at least one season and I believe Joe Gunn another if my memory serves me correctly.
