Well I haven't, and I'm sure I've been around more UGA fans than you since 2001. I also don't talk about football with the dumbass redneck wal-mart fans that you are likely talking about.
Nobody, literally, not a single person I know or have ever known has the mindset of, paraphrasing, "We really should be better, but Richt is a great Christian man so it's ok".

Funny, because I've never heard anything like that.
I've heard "he's a good representative for the university," but that's absolutely true
