He signed a very decent deal for a 4th rounder and he got it done early so that definitely sends the message that they like him and want him to stick around:

Worth almost $2.7 million over four years it includes a hefty signing bonus of nearly half a million and then a progressive salary that starts just above the league minimum for rookies and goes to $600k+ in the fourth year of the deal.

Also Tuesday, the Arizona Cardinals announced they signed cornerback Jimmy Legree. The former Gamecock was released last week by the Seattle Seahawks.

Makes it seem like the 49ers drafted 2 USC players in the 4th round.

But awesome for Ellington. I think he'll replace LaMichael James as the main kick returner and maybe punts as well. James apparently wants out of SanFran.
