Any way, back to the point. Speak your mind and make a fool of yourself all day every day, that is certainly your "right." But be prepared to pay the consequences if the market so dicates.

You are missing the point of the entire article. Do you not see this current trend of every major corporation feeling that is should become America's though police a bad thing?

Private organization can whatever they want, but PC nature is turning this all into an uncontrollable mess.

Many people in today's current business climate seem to believe that we all have to think one way. If you disagree with the way we think then we are going to fire you.

eta: You sound like a major dbag, who thinks way too highly of himself if we are being honest.

I told you I didn't read the article. I rarely click links from this site. I am simply responding to what the Aggie poster said about Sterling's "right" to express his opinion without having his "property taken away." I was taking issue with that very specific point.

Yes, yes I get all that. Our society and rules are but a function of the people that make it up. This will be policed by society. There is a tipping point when the "PC nature" will backfire and things will tilt back the other way. It's already happened in a lot of situations. I hate PC bullshite as much as the next person, but that's not really the point.

Meh, most businesses are not going around firing people for their beliefs unless those beliefs are a threat to the business' reputation (bottom line), product (bottom line), etc (i.e., bottom line). Sure there are a-hole bosses who fire you because they don't like you or your beliefs, but it isn't some epidemic. My boss and I disagree on all kinds of stuff but my beliefs or expression thereof don't impact my company's bottom line so they don't give a shite. If and when it does, they'd probably fire me and be justified in doing so. There are in business to make money and aren't going to tolerate something that they believe is an obstacle to that goal.
