this is hardly a unanimous opinion across the denominations, and should be a decision left to each congregation, similar to how the episcopals have been operating, no?

Agree with what was said above....

and to the one right above, I view it as wrong period, considering biblical principle. I do know that it caused a major split within the Presbys and Episcs...

and now even some Methodists as well

I was stating my opinion, but it is also the opinion of the vast majority of not only denominations but religions. And at least two thirds of the Anglicans (which includes Episcopal) share my opinion.

This is my opinion. The most logical thing to do is have civil unions recognized by government entities (whether they be gay couples or straight couples) and let people stand before their own church to be wed (if they so choose) Churches should then have the right to refuse or grant marriage ceremonies based on their doctrine.
