It's an amazingly rare occurence and a very big deal. I'm surprised you think otherwise, unless you're blinded by your politics.

I gave you a link, didn't I?

American embassies (and consulates - technically Benghazi wasn't an embassy, but that's not really important) have been attacked several times. Hell, there have been attacks on American embassies since Benghazi. What happened in Libya was tragic, but it wasn't exactly something new.
