..how much does a four year education cost at the University of Georgia?

Less than the revenue they generate for the Athletic department that pays for it... considerably

...and technically, they only get it year to year.

A lot of these kids are broke and do not have spending money of much consequence. Much less than the average student I would dare say. When you are broke and young and you see all the money being spent on football at UGA and other schools. It is easy to feel the way these guys do....Feel free to judge this situation from the perspective of a 40 year old white guy if you want....

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't the majority of these students also get the Pell Grant. You can't tell me these frickers are going hungry and make me believe it.

It's the entitlement attitude, it starts in high school or even earlier and these kids are given all kinds of benefits simply because they can play a sport and by the time they graduate high school and enter college these kids think that anything they want they are entitled to.

Since when do all "employees" deserve to be compensated based on how much profit the "business" brings in?

If you want to compare it to a employer/employee relationship, an agreement of compensation was already agreed upon before the employees even made it to the campus. They agree to be compensated with a free education, housing, food, and other perks on top of an internship for a profession in the NFL.

These terms were not agreed upon based on profits earned. Since most athletic programs don't turn a profit, it would be silly to make that part of the deal.

um..im 32...and fact is..only some are doing it...you never heard about Richard Samuel doing some dumb shite like that did you? no...cause it aint about what thy deserve and arent getting,...and it aint about us hardlegging over them either...its about the fact that they grew up looking for a handout and somebody has been kissing their arse since pop warner cause they can catch, run, jump, block, etc...it is about Drake and 2chainz and the entitlement culture of a certain gruop of a certain generation...

Jameis Winston is a TPOS...he raped a girl...and got away with it...won a Heisman...then stole some crab legs and is gonna get away with it...why?...cause that town down there is run by the university and they are his golden boy...but the fact of the matter is...he is just another idiot thug...

my point with my OP was that I hope we can curb that culture @UGA...it seems that as of late, it has been creeping into the program....

frick Jameis Winston...give me Bridgewater all day...well spoken gentleman who can ball too....THAT is a guy with an NFL future...bet you he never complained about Louisville not paying him...

True. And the company you work for makes a lot more money off your work than they pay you for, too. If they didn't, they would go out of business. That is life.

And when they don't make it in the NFL, and they see big businesses making money, what will they do? Put their hand out and ask for more money?
Did they not understand what they would and would not get when they signed the scholarship? If they wanted money immediately they should have gone and gotten a job. Do you know how much overtime I had to work so I could pay for my daughter's education at UGA? She was in the Honor's program...but I had to pay for her room, board and spending money. Imagine...somebody having to work for what they get. The nerve.
Worse yet...the company I worked all that overtime for STILL made a lot of money off my work. I don't know where these companies get off thinking they should make a profit off my work!
