I believe in that for doing work, or making good grades. But just for not behaving like a titty baby or a wild heathen, not so much. No one gets rewarded in life for being bad, they get put in jail.

It honestly depends on the age. If they're quite a bit younger, it's not a bad thing for rewarding them for behaving. As long as you don't go overboard with it I don't really see anything wrong with it. I can remember being younger and getting rewarded with an ice cream or something for behaving at an important family event or dinner.

Problem is some parents will give kids all kinds of shite just to shut them up. That's when they start getting the impression that the bad behavior = reward.

Well newsflash, but being a titty baby and a wild heathen on occasion is part of being a kid. It's more about sitting them down before going out for dinner and reminding them how they're too behave, and if they do you'll recognize them for it. For my kids, it's usually something as simple as letting them build a fort in mine and my wife's bedroom and sleeping on the floor in said fort for the night. Or stopping for doughnuts or ice cream on the way home. It's worked for me as my kids are generally well behaved.
