Everyone I know that has a college ring either is from Texas or went to college in Texas.

False. Until about 10-15 years ago no one in the greatest State in the Union did it other than Aggies. Once the grads from the lesser schools started getting absolutely dominanated by the power of the Aggie Network, their branding experts decided to mimick us. I'm 100% serious.

Every university offers rings.

College rings may be more popular in Texas, due to number of universities in that state, but has nothing to do with copying Aggie rituals. I personally have close relationship with a TCU ('92), Aggie ('89) and Rice ('87) grad....all three still wear their rings with pride.

And 100% wrong! I still have dents in my head from my father's class of '57 Baylor ring.
