Grew up a Kentucky fan my whole life. Wasn't until my wife converted me to Auburn in 2008 (MSU @ AU) that I lost interest in Kentucky.
I still watch some Kentucky basketball, root for them when they're not playing Auburn.
As far as the Kentucky is the Alabama of basketball, that is mostly correct. You have some self righteous pretentious Kentucky basketball fans that believe because they're Kentucky they should always be the best and get the best.
Difference between Alabama and Kentucky is, Kentucky sells out all their games even when they're winning all the time. Unlike Alabama who has to be guilted and lectured to by Saban to get students to come to games.
Kentucky students line up 24 hours in advance to get tickets to even the weak OOC games.
